We opened our eyes lately on natural disasters with the cyclone going through Myanmar and the earthquake hitting Sichuan (China), such sadness. Having said that I would like to point out other atrocities happening in the world and this time it is not blamed on nature but on humans. Instead of me blogging away on a particular subject I rather point out two interesting links that everyone one of us should take a look at and be aware of.
So for all the INJUSTICES happening in the world, on this day of May 15, 2008 – Bloggers Unite for Human Rights!
Please visit those sites, the minimum we could do is at least be aware of it.
If you have some comments or links or even stories you would like to share please do so by adding a comment to this post.

“the minimum we could do is at least be aware of it.”
I’ve been browsing various blogs today that have blogged for Human Rights Day, and that is the best bit of truth I have come across. So many people are so willfully ignorant of the injustices in this world. We need to open their eyes as well as our own.
Great post.

Wonderful post. I posted about the human trafficking done in Jamaica.Especially to young girls.
Your assessment is correct. Ignorance is bliss, with awareness comes power.

@Abby,
Thank you for leaving a comment on this post and this blog. I really appreciate your kind words. I’ve been debating for a long time on which topic to choose for May 15 and just could not choose!
I think in todays world, with all the possible technologies at our hand delivering in front of us all of this information, you have to try really hard to be ignorant.
Thank you again.

Thanks for your thoughts on human rights. As the Preamble to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights reminds us, “…recognition of the inherent dignity and of the equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family is the foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world.”
